CrossFit was a style of training that for years I didn’t understand the methodology of and let my anxieties and ego stop me from trying. Once I final gave it a go, I was hooked and thrust myself fully into it. Six years on and it’s not only become something I enjoy but my passion – especially competing. In 2022 I completed my CF-L1 course, allowing me to help others discover their potential whilst avoiding the many mistakes I made in the beginning. I’ve since become a Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aider. This journey is still fairly new to me and look forward to seeing where the next 10 years takes me, learning, developing and growing as a coach.

I discovered CrossFit in 2016 when I rented a room at a local box. I spent the first three months just watching these incredible humans of differing ages, shapes sizes and backgrounds, doing incredible things with their bodies. Finally, I took the plunge, joined one of the workouts and haven’t looked back since. I’m now a Level 2 CrossFit coach and also have qualifications in pre and post-natal fitness and nutrition. My background as an Osteopath means I have a great understanding of how the body works which helps in getting the best out of members.

In 2012, I discovered CrossFit at a crucial moment in my life. Struggling with excess weight, I knew I needed a more dynamic approach to fitness than the standard gym routine. Ditching the traditional 3 x 10 on the chest press machine, I crafted my own training regimen. One day, someone noticed my unconventional workouts and asked, “Do you do CrossFit?” Intrigued, I delved into CrossFit content on YouTube, stumbling upon the exhilarating highlights of the 2011 games. Instantly captivated, I embarked on a journey that led me to Glasgow for my CrossFit Level 1 certification, and from there, I never looked back. Years later, I advanced to achieve my CrossFit Level 3 certification, solidifying my commitment to this empowering fitness community.

I have followed the world of CrossFit for quite a while but after so many years doing very little, to no consistent phys, I was always to nervous to give it ago…
I finally took the plunge in 2023 when I attended my first CrossFit session at Wodisham Fitness. The hardest part about that session, was actually getting out my car and walking in to the gym, i was super nervous. Little did I know I was about to find ‘my thing’!
After meeting Ben and Suze, their passion and knowledge inspired me so much, coupled with the fact that I love watching, encouraging and supporting others smash their goals, big or small. I soon realised I wanted this to be more than just a hobby and in March 2024 I passed my CF-L1. This is the very beginning of my CrossFit journey, I’m so excited to watch CrossFit Claydon unfold and to be part of the team.
